The 13th National JMGA conference would not have been complete without a range of special events - including the new pin-swap event COLOUR, a bus tour of local jewellery studios and lunch in the famous McLaren Vale Wine region, and finishing up the conference with lawn bowls and a bbq dinner.
COLOUR - the new pin-swap cocktail party!
Soiree included: deluxe canape dinner, glass of bubbles & sweet lounge sounds, entertainment & the traditional pin-swap.

Where: First, Hotel Richmond, 128 Rundle Mall, Adelaide
Dress: with colour
Attendees provided a pin to swap and were asked to provide an image of themselves with their pin for the slideshow extravaganza

Lawn Bowls & BBQ Dinner
We kicked off our shoes and let it roll to celebrate the success of the conference with a casual bowl, some breezy tunes and a BBQ!

Inside-Out Bus Tour
When: Monday 28 January 2008, starting at 9:30am
Where: pick-up from the Hilton Adelaide, 233 Victoria Square, Adelaide
The tour included:
Visit Soda and Rhyme Jewellery Design Studio, North Adelaide
Visit Gray Street Workshop, Adelaide
Drive south along Unley Road then up to Windy Point Lookout to see Adelaide from a beautiful viewpoint. Continue through Belair, Blackwood, Coromandel Valley, Clarendon, Blewitt Springs, McLaren Flat and into McLaren Vale
Lunch: Red Poles Gallery, Licensed Cafe, Gallery, B&B and Art Workshops. Choice of a'la carte main meal and a dessert, followed by wine tasting and viewing of jewellery exhibition
Travel back along the Southern Expressway to Marion then via Glenelg, West Beach, Largs to Port Adelaide
Visit jewellery exhibition at New Land Gallery, Port Adelaide
Drive back to Adelaide
Drop off 5:30pm at Hilton Adelaide

Power Point Gallery
All registered conference delegates were invited to participate in the Power Point Gallery; a screen projection of new works by everyone attending the conference. The projection was screened in the conference venue throughout the conference proceedings.

Suitcase Sale
The Suitcase Sale gave delegates the chance to make some money and get feedback from their peers. The sale was an excellent opportunity for networking, allowing those involved to have their work seen by other jewellers, designers, media and curators.
